SUNDAY MASS CELEBRATED IN THE ANNAKAPELLE FOR  FEAST OF ST ANNA(26th July 2009)

Nearly 50 members of the congregation were in the Anna Chapel for the 0730hrs Sunday Mass,which this year was in honour of St Anne,Mother of the Blessed Virgen Mary.
Father Julius Kreuzer celebrated Mass assisted by Deacon Fredl Hofmann.The Mass was a Deutsch/Latin Mass with the Kyrie,Gloria,Sanctus & Agnes Dei sang in latin led by Albert Frey,Tenor & Musical Director for the Parish.4 members of the congregation were celebrating their name day the youngest being 7 year old Michaela Anna Elisabeth Rosenthal-English.
The Video below was taken just before Mass.The light in the Anna Chape is not very good so the altar pictured above did not come out clearly.However you can see the rest of the chapel with the worldfamous "Dance of Death" on the back wall of the chapel.

The Chapel is the oldest Chapel in the town of Füssen that has been in constnt use for the celebration of Holy Mass.Mass is traditionally celebrated in the Chapel once a year on the Feastday of St Joachim & St Anne.The Chapel is now part of the Füssen Museum and the Town authourities allow the Parish to use it on this feastday for the celebration of Mass. 
FÜSSEN WASSERWACHT SEEFEST(19 July 2009)

 Füssen Wasserwatch which is responsible for patroling all the local Lakes and the River Lech celebrated its annual Festival over the weekend 17/19th July.

The Organisation has its vehicles based beside the Forgansee next to where the two ships are more that in summer sail the Forgensee  with thousands of visitors to the area.

On Sunday 19th at 1100hrs Father Michael,OFM celebrated an outdoor Mass for the organisation which was well attended.

The organist at the Franciscan Church called Roland was also playing the music for this Mass.


KOLPING FAMILY MASS TO CELEBRATE 100 YEARS OF THEIR HOUSE IN FÜSSEN!(19 july 2009)

Gessellenhaus in Füssen celebrates its 100th birthday owned by the Kolping family on 19th July 2009.The organisation started 17 years earlier in Füssen,and is named after Blessed Alfred Kolping,a German priest.He was born into a poor family and later became a Priest.Whilst serving in one Parish he saw the deprivation of the workers and absolute poverty they lived in due to the Industrial Revolution.He founded the 1st Catholic "Journeyman" organisation in Cologne on 6th May 1849.He  was elected Spiritual Director of this Organisation,which has now become the Kolpin Family today.His belief was "self-help and community".The Kolpin organisation is based on the family and has reached to all parts of the World spreading the message and imitating the works of its founder,who himself was motivated by the Gospel message of Our Lord & Saviour,Jesus Christ.

The current president of the Füssen Kolping Family,Manfred Sailor outside Gessellenhaus.

Father Michael the present Spiritual leader or Praeses as they are named by the organisation.He celebrated the 100th Anniversary Mass.

You could be forgiven for not knowing that a second miracle connected to Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos is currently being investigated!That is if you live in Germany.Whilst the US media is full of the news on TV,Radio Stations and in the Press here in Germany the weekly Diocesan Newspaper for Augsburg -Katholische Sonntags Zeitung fur Bistrum Augsburg has completely ignored it.They were even sent the news release about it but did not find it at all important.

The Vicar General of the Diocese of Augsburg,Pralet Karlheinz Knebel has passed the news item above to the German Media.He told us," I have passed your information to those responsible for the Diocesan  Sunday Paper and the other media".Lets pray that here in Germany many will know be interested in the "Son of Füssen" who gave his life working to bring the faith to those German-Americans who were so poorly spiritually nourished at the time.

MASS IN FELDKIRCHE FOR FEAST OF ST ULRICH
(4th July 2009)

Twice a year the church of St Ulrich & St Afra is open.

The 4th July 2009,Feast of St Ulrich,Patron of the Diocese of Augsburg,Parish Priest & Dean,Father Frank Deuring celebrated the Holy Mass in the "Feldkirche".The organ was not used but led by Alfred Vogler,Sacristan, the church reverbarated with the joyful sound of the hymns being sung..It was an honour to be part of this great celebration.



SUN THEN RAIN FOR ANNUAL PARISH FESTIVAL
(5 July 2009)

Dispite early morning weather looking as if it would pour down the sky's cleared after the annual Parish Mass.The Pfarrfest as it is called in German got under way.Clear sky's brought out many of the locals to come and visit and enjoy themselves.The children had a bouncy castle and other games to keep them occupied.Father Frank Deuring,Parish Priest went from table to table meeting his Parishioners.Füssen's Mayor,Paul Jacob also met many and spoke to them.

Later when the children from St Gabriel Kindergarten came to do their display the heavens opened and it poured down with rain.
